お世話になった先生宛てに届いたメールには、日本よりも寒いミネソタの生活にも慣れたこと、 毎日毎日忙しく、充実した学生生活をおくっていることが綴られています。
Hello Mr. Amasa!
I am sorry that I could not keep you updated. I had such busy days these past two months. Anyways how have you been? I heard it snowed in Osaka this winter! Minnesota? Of course it has been snowing all the time. We already had cancellation of all classes TWICE this spring semester due to severe weather. There was a day when outside was -1℃ and guess what I felt? “IT’S WARM TODAY.” Yeah I am so used to this weather here already, which is a little bit scary.
New semester has begun and all my classes are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, which makes my days so busy. I attached the schedule so that you can see how busy I am this semester! haha I am taking Public Speaking(speech class), Western civilization(European history), Comparative political systems(Political Science), Survey of Math(more like intro to statistics), and Spanish! Yes, no more French, but Spanish! There are a few reasons I don’t continue French anymore. There is no studying abroad or programs to go outside of the US to study French whereas Spanish programs have so many options and opportunities. Actually, Spanish is slightly easier than French. I really enjoyed my French class last semester though…Oh well.
Anyhow, how was your winter break? I went to Seattle to see my mom’s friend from high school. Her name is Hisako Tarutani, she used to be in the hockey team and now and now she owns three Japanese restaurants in Seattle. It was nice staying there and eating Japanese food everyday! I am planning to go back there for the Summer break.
Now I have a meeting in half an hour, gotta get going! Hope you are doing great:)
